Nearly 1,000 people carry reliquaries and statues venerated in the churches of Tournai, continuing a tradition dating back to 1092. Among the treasures on display are exceptional pieces such as the large reliquaries of the Cathedral, the reliquary of Our Lady (1205), that of Saint Eleutherius (1243) and that of the Damoiseaux (16th century). The procession is accompanied by numerous musical groups.
The procession returns to the Cathedral at around 11:20 a.m. and the Blessed Sacrament is blessed.
NB: in case of rain, a service will be held in the Cathedral at 10:30 a.m. During the procession, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place at the Cathedral and at Saint-Brice Church.
